National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has warned Kenyans against voting in anger, vengeance and hatred in the forthcoming 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a church service in Nakuru, Wetang’ula regretted that the opposition led by ex Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is currently planting hate among Kenyans ahead of the polls.

The speaker warned that hatred and anger may easily lead to the election of undesirable leaders.

"I want to ask Kenyans, when there is stiff competition for politics, we must exhibit tolerance and calmness," said Wetang’ula.

Instead of promoting divisiveness, Wetang’ula implored political leaders to emulate the statesmanship that President William Ruto has exhibited in guiding the nation to remain cohesive.

"Leaders who cultivate division, tribalism, and hatred should not be given an opportunity in leadership. Even if it's me, throw me out because we must ensure political hygiene,” Wetang’ula said.
