The Mbaitu FM fraternity and fans have been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Drive Show presenter Mercy Mawia.
Mawia, fondly known as Kamuwetangi breathed her last on Tuesday, July 23, while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
Confirming her demise, the Kamba radio station said the media personality had been admitted to the hospital and succumbed while undergoing a surgical procedure.
At the time of her death, her husband Mwangi was by her bedside and confirmed the death.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Drive Show presenter, Ms Mercy Mawia. Mercy, aka Kamuwetangi, passed on this morning while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital after being admitted to undergoing a surgical procedure,” Mbaitu FM shared on Facebook.
Mawia’s fans and colleagues took to social media to mourn her, expressing their shock following her untimely death.
