The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 24,000 internship opportunities for Junior Secondary School teachers across the country as part of efforts to strengthen the rollout of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, TSC invited qualified candidates to submit their applications through its online platforms, either via the commission’s website at www.tsc.go.ke under the careers section or directly through teachersonline.tsc.go.ke.
The application window opened on August 26 and will close at midnight on September 9, 2025.
According to the commission, successful applicants will be posted to Junior Schools within the sub-counties where they are interviewed, or to other schools within the county where vacancies exist.
The Teacher Internship Programme, which will run for one year, is designed to provide educators with practical classroom experience, mentorship and coaching, while also enhancing the delivery of the Junior School Curriculum.
Applicants are required to be Kenyan citizens with at least a Diploma in Education, a mean grade of C+ in KCSE, and a C+ in two teaching subjects, in addition to being registered with TSC.
While the internship is not a salaried position, interns will receive a monthly stipend of Sh20,000 subject to statutory deductions.
