President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to put national interests above political differences and remain focused on pushing for transformative development goals that will lift  the country.

Speaking in Kilifi during the burial of Mzee Gideon Baya Mungaro Senior, the President maintained that despite differences there is a need for unity and collective purpose in tackling the country’s most pressing challenges.

“We may be of different opinions and strategies, but we must put the nation first. Only through unity can we build Kenya together. Even during protests, we should ensure that the protests are not violent, or those of destruction of property because we don’t have another country that we will run to when things turn ugly,” said Ruto

The President held that the government was committed to important changes, especially in healthcare, housing, and agriculture.

He said transforming agriculture would secure food production and expanding housing program would generate employment and achieving universal health coverage would ensure equitable and dignified healthcare for all citizens.

“We must concentrate on the transformation of Kenya,” the President stated, adding that these efforts are central to creating a more inclusive and prosperous nation.
