The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has secured a life imprisonment sentence against a 92-year-old man convicted of defiling a 10-year-old child in Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County.
Samuel Kimiti Ndoro was sentenced on September 10, 2026, by Principal Magistrate Agde Savai Eddah at the Mukurwe-ini Law Courts after being found guilty of defilement under Section 8(1) as read with Section 8(2) of the Sexual Offences Act.
The court heard that Ndoro, who was known to the child and was a family friend, allegedly took her to a secluded area within his compound and sexually assaulted her before giving her money and threatening her not to disclose the incident.
The matter came to light after Ndoro reported the child to her grandmother, alleging that she had stolen money from him. When questioned, the child disclosed that Ndoro had given her the money following the assault and revealed an earlier incident involving the accused.
The prosecution, led by Elizabeth Waruguru and Sarah Kitui, called five witnesses and presented medical and other evidence.
The court found the child’s evidence credible and corroborated, rejected Ndoro’s defence and sentenced him to life imprisonment, effective from the date of his first arraignment and detention.
