Interior cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen says authorities have commenced a probe on pososible involvement of some police officers in the escape of Kamiti inmate from Kibera law Courts minutes before sentence hearing on Wednesday .

CS Murkomen has also urged members of the National Police Service to be patients as the government gradually implements Maraga’s taskforce recommendation to increase their salaries.

He spoke in Nandi County during the Jukwaa La Usalama County security tour.The Interior Cabinet Secretary engaged with locals, security personnel and national government administration officers.

The CS using the platform to caution any police officer involved in aiding inmates or detainees to escape from custody of dire consequences.

This coming after an inmate, identified as Alex Kibisu, mysteriously vanished from Kibera Law Courts in handcuffs Wednesday, shortly before a sentencing hearing.

The meeting also revealed persistent border security challenges between Nandi, Kakamega and Kisumu Counties.He also put on notice chiefs, civil servants and other government officers condoning the sale of second-generation alcohol in the County and other regions.
