A delegation from the Defence Attaché Association of Kenya (DAAK), led by Canada’s Defence Attaché to Kenya, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wood, visited the Kenya Navy Headquarters in Mombasa to strengthen military ties and cooperation.

The delegation met with Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, Brigadier Sankale Kiswaa, to discuss military diplomacy and regional security.

They received a briefing on the Kenya Navy’s role in maritime security and explored areas for collaboration.The tour included visits to key facilities, including the Kenya Navy Hospital, Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC), the Special Boats Unit (SBU), and Kenya Shipyards Limited (KSL).

Highlights included a demonstration of the Full Mission Bridge Simulator at KNTC and discussions on ship maintenance at KSL.

Senior Kenya Navy officials, including Commander Kenya Navy Fleet, Brigadier Mohamed Shemote, and Chief of Naval Medical Services, Brigadier (Dr) Justino Muinde, were present.

The visit reinforced Kenya’s commitment to international military cooperation and regional maritime security.
