Belgut Member of Parliament Nelson Koech has cast doubts about the recent purported abduction of supposed government critics and their subsequent release.
Speaking on Tuesday, January 7, Koech pointed out inconsistencies in the alleged abductees’ accounts at the hands of their ‘tormentors’, inviting the DCI to summon the individuals to uncover the truth about the incidents.
For instance, the lawmaker questioned the reported abduction of Kibet Bull, questioning his tale that he went to a disco matanga after being freed by his abductors.
"The case of a young man called Kibet. He says he appeared somewhere in Luanda, and he's been partying the whole night. And yesterday, he found his way to Nakuru. You cannot be released by abductors and still attend some disco in Luanda. It is impossible. You've been away for 15 days, and you still look clean and comfortable going and dancing at night. Let us be very honest with the people of this country," said Koech.
Koech also pointed out that the supposed abductees appeared well-fed and neatly shaved, which is unusual for people who had been held against their will.
The MP argued that the reported abductions across the country were staged to provoke a series of events.
