The government has fired over 300 staffers employed under former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
The workers, hired on contract at Gachagua’s Harambee Annex office and his official Karen home two years ago, began receiving dismissal notifications via text messages over the weekend.
The message originating from the HR manager informed the affected staffers that their contracts had been terminated.
As previously reported, after Gachagua was impeached, his 108 staffers were sent on compulsory leave.
Department heads were instructed to designate responsible officers for their respective departments in writing, with copies sent to the chief of staff and the administrative secretary.
