Booker Omole, the newly elected General Secretary of the Communist Party Marxist-Kenya (CPM), marked his first international engagement at the “Conference in Solidarity with the Peoples of the Sahel” in Niamey, Niger.
Representing Kenya and his party, Omole delivered a strong message of Pan-Africanism, resistance to imperialism, and the need to strengthen revolutionary movements across Africa and beyond.
“The Communist Party Marxist (CPM) Kenya, stands in solidarity with the peoples of the Sahel and affirms our unwavering commitment to the struggle against imperialism,” he said.
Omole praised Niger’s recent revolutionary efforts, highlighting the expulsion of foreign powers and the unification of the nation as exemplary.
He called for alliances among Africa’s revolutionary forces to dismantle neo-colonial systems, resist external domination, and establish socialist economies that serve the people.
Addressing foreign military bases in Africa, Omole condemned their presence as violations of sovereignty and tools of exploitation.
He demanded their immediate dismantling, citing the need for Africa to determine its own destiny free from external interference.
“Such bases deepen colonial wounds and perpetuate violence, resource exploitation, and political interference. The CPM Kenya calls for the immediate dismantling of all foreign military installations, including those established by France and its Western allies,” he stated.
The conference, organized by the Pan Africanism Today (PAT) Secretariat and the West Africa People’s Organization (WAPO), brings together over 300 delegates, including trade unions and leftist groups, to challenge Western exploitation of Africa’s resources and the geopolitical hypocrisy of interventions justified as promoting stability and counter-terrorism.
