The Kenya U20 Men’s National Team, Rising Stars, will now head straight to Cairo, Egypt on Monday to continue preparations for the TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This follows a revision to their initial training schedule, which had included a pre-tournament camp in Morocco.

However, the recent tournament draw placed Kenya in Group B alongside Morocco, Tunisia, and Nigeria, prompting the team to scrap the Morocco camp for strategic reasons.

Instead, the Rising Stars will finalize their preparations in Egypt ahead of their opening match against Morocco on May 1 at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo.

Kenya’s second group fixture will be against Tunisia on Sunday, May 4 followed by a high-stakes clash with Nigeria on May 7, both matches also set to take place at the same Cairo venue.

The U20 Africa Cup of Nations will run from April 27 to May 18, with matches hosted across Cairo, Ismailia, and Suez.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has extended its best wishes to the Rising Stars as they fly the national flag high on the continental stage.
