President William Ruto today held a meeting with the Confederation of Africa Football President Patrice Motsepe to discuss the ongoing preparations to co-host the the Africa Cup of Nations tournament (AFCON) in 2027.
The AFCON tournament is scheduled to be held at the Talanta Sports City Stadium which is under construction and will be completed by December 2025.
Additionally, President Ruto has given a commitment that the progressive ongoing renovation of Kasarani and Nyayo stadia will be completed by the end of this year to host African Nations Championships 2025.
The meeting was held at State House, Nairobi.
President Ruto acknowledged that Mr. Motsepe is satisfied by the 2027 AFCON preparations.
