The ruling UDA MPs who defied the party position and opposed Rigathi Gachagua’s impeachment in the National Assembly might not walk away scot free.

This is after UDA founder members demanded disciplinary action be taken against these MPs.

In a statement, the members regretted that the MPs voted to save Gachagua despite the grave charges leveled against him.

"We demand that the party initiates disciplinary action against Members of Parliament who voted against ouster motion on impeached DP in the light of grave charges leveled against him. We opine that the MPs who defended the disgraced DP brought shame and disrepute to the Party and are guilty by association," read the statement in part.

The founder members also asked the party officials to officially expel the impeached Gachagua and appoint Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as the deputy party leader.

They also asked UDA officials to audit the procurement processes under the stint of former Secretary General Cleophas Malalah.
