President William Ruto has dismissed opposition politicians, accusing them of lacking a concrete plan for the country.
Speaking on Friday, Ruto took a swipe at leaders who attended the launch of Martha Karua’s rebranded People’s Liberation Party, claiming they spent the entire time discussing him rather than presenting an agenda for Kenyans.
“Their agenda is William Ruto, and I did not send them. They should find a party and give it a name, not William Ruto,” the President remarked.
Ruto challenged the opposition to provide an alternative vision for the nation, highlighting the Kenya Kwanza administration’s ongoing projects such as affordable housing, universal health coverage, and job creation for the youth.
“They should have an agenda, a plan, and a vision for Kenya; otherwise, they will fail. We are building roads, what is your plan?” he posed.

His remarks come in the wake of renewed opposition unity efforts. On Thursday, opposition leaders vowed to unite under a common front for the 2027 elections during the unveiling of Karua’s revamped political outfit.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa emphasized the need for a strong coalition, drawing parallels to the historic 2002 elections when the opposition united to defeat the ruling regime.
“We are going to unite under an idea and an agenda; it cannot just be unity to remove an individual. It is not going to be business as usual,” Kalonzo stated.
