In a major stride toward strengthening Kenya’s health workforce, President William Ruto today officially commissioned the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Narok Campus, reaffirming the government’s resolve to anchor Universal Health Coverage (UHC) on a robust and well-trained cadre of healthcare professionals.

The state-of-the-art campus, developed through a strategic partnership between KMTC and the County Government of Narok, boasts modern academic facilities including fully equipped classrooms, laboratories, a library, and student hostels.

Having admitted its first batch of students in March 2024, the campus is already offering specialized training in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Health Records, and Health Care Assistance.

Speaking during the launch, President Ruto praised the rapid growth of the institution and emphasized the government’s ongoing investment in medical training to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare services across the country.

Accompanying the President was the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni, who highlighted the Ministry of Health’s broader strategy to scale up healthcare training and deploy qualified professionals to underserved regions.

The KMTC Narok Campus is expected to be a vital pillar in the delivery of UHC by producing a new generation of skilled health workers ready to serve in all corners of Kenya.
