Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has cautioned politicians against casting aspersions and doubt on the newly reconstituted Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

He spoke during a women and youth economic empowerment in Kakamega county. The Kenya kwanza brigade extended the government’s economic empowerment program in the western region on Friday, pitching camps in Malava and Shinyalu areas of Kakamega and Busia counties.

Mudavadi defended the commission, warning that unfounded allegations of possible vote rigging could erode public trust in democratic institutions.

The reaffirmation comes amid growing public unease over the integrity of the general elections, sparked by recent statements from a section of politicians hinting at potential vote manipulation.

Speaking separately in Bureti, Kericho county during the empowerment of women groups, a section of UDA allied politicians has called for speedy investigations and immediate apprehension of orchestrators and financiers of the protests irrespective of their political status
