A section of Members of Parliament from the Mt. Kenya region have convened at the Enashipai Hotel in Naivasha for a high-level consultative meeting to deliberate on pressing national and regional matters.

The meeting, led by National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, brings together influential lawmakers from across the region, amid growing political tension and shifting alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sources close to the organizing team indicate that the leaders are expected to craft a common position on recent political developments, regional unity, and economic priorities affecting the Mt. Kenya bloc.

“Already 41 MPs from Mount Kenya have arrived to discuss the way forward for Mount Kenya region,” Source said.

Key issues on the agenda include intra-coalition wrangles, representation concerns, and development resource allocation.

A joint press briefing is scheduled at the venue later in the day, where the MPs are expected to issue a formal statement outlining their resolutions.

The event comes at a time when Mt. Kenya leaders are under pressure to reaffirm their role within the ruling coalition and respond to growing sentiments of political marginalization among their constituents.
