West Pokot County Assembly Speaker Fredrick Kaptui Plimo and two other accused persons have pleaded not guilty to charges linked to the alleged loss of Ksh.260 million from a Sacco between 2018 and 2025.

Plimo, Kodich Ward Member of County Assembly Paul Lokitari Ywapamoi and Francis Atodosia were arraigned before the court on Thursday by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to face various charges in connection with the alleged financial fraud.

The court granted each of the three accused persons a bond of Ksh.12 million, with an alternative cash bail of Ksh.6 million.

The case is scheduled for mention on November 16, 2026, when the court will issue further directions.

The three are among nine individuals facing charges over the alleged loss of Ksh.260,008,100 from the Sacco during the seven-year period.

The charges include conspiracy to defraud, stealing by servant, cheating, unauthorised interference with a computer system and abuse of office.

The prosecution alleges that the accused persons were involved in activities that resulted in the loss of the funds. However, all three have denied the charges, and the case will proceed through the court process.

The prosecution was led by Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Patrick Okango, assisted by Faith Koech, Jairus Onkoba, Stephene Mokaya, Gregory Suter, Victor Mamati and Clinton Kere.
