Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has said Kenyans will no longer be swayed by political slogans or incitement, but will instead support leaders focused on tangible development and improving lives.

Speaking on Saturday during an empowerment event for women and youth groups in Masinga Constituency, Machakos County, Kindiki emphasized that the era of empty rhetoric and divisive politics is over. He said the government is committed to fostering development, peaceful coexistence, and uplifting those at the bottom of the economic ladder.

“Kenyans are more informed now. They won’t fall for empty slogans or tribal incitement. They want to see what you did for them while in office,” he said.

The Deputy President dismissed debates about political succession and term limits, calling them distractions. “Talk about who serves how many terms is irrelevant. No one knows the future. What matters is how well you serve the people, even if just for a day,” he added.

Kindiki also defended the government’s ongoing empowerment initiatives, highlighting their impact on grassroots communities, particularly small-scale traders like mama mboga and boda boda operators.

He said such programs are part of a broader effort to uplift micro and small enterprises across the country.
