Eight people have been confirmed dead in two grisly accidents at Suswa along the Mai Mahiu- Narok Highway.
The Monday, December 23, accident at about 10am involved six motor vehicles and one motorcycle.
In the accident, one trailer, which was being driven from Narok towards Mai Mahiu, got a tyre burst and lost control, knocking down a Toyota Premio, an ENA Coach bus and a Narok-Line Matatu. Unfortunately, three matatu occupants died on the spot.
Later, a second trailer that was being driven from Narok towards Mai Mahiu arrived at the scene at high speed and collided head on with a Prado which was travelling in the opposite direction.
Two Prado occupants died on the spot and the third died while receiving treatment at Narok County Hospital.
The second trailer also knocked down a motorcycle and killed two pillion passengers on the spot.
The deceased have been taken to Narok County Referral Hospital Mortuary while those injured are currently admitted at the same hospital for treatment.
