Environment Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to climate action following a high-level meeting with the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors, led by Dr. David Ndii, to review investor compliance with the amended Climate Change Act and Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement.

The discussions, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, focused on ensuring that investments align with Kenya’s green constitution, which integrates climate action with economic development.

The meeting also explored the private sector’s role in supporting government-led climate initiatives and Kenya’s emerging carbon credit and carbon market regulations, which are poised to play a crucial role in climate financing.

CS Duale emphasized the importance of investor collaboration in advancing the country’s sustainability goals, noting that Kenya’s climate policies are central to the government’s transformative agenda.

Present at the meeting were Environment and Climate Change PS Dr. Eng. Festus Ng’eno, Climate Change Department representatives led by Dr. Pacifica Ogola, NEMA Director General Mr. Mamo Mamo, as well as Kenya’s Climate Envoy Ali Mohamed and Moses Kuria.
