Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua has announced a new initiative aimed at empowering young people through labour migration, providing financial support for travel expenses to those seeking employment opportunities abroad.

The program, spearheaded by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in collaboration with the Ministry of Co-operatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Development, is designed to enhance job opportunities for youth while fostering financial stability and economic growth.

According to Mutua the initiative aligns with President William Ruto’s commitment to addressing unemployment by creating pathways for young people to secure meaningful work beyond Kenya’s borders. Officials believe this move will uplift thousands of families by offering new income-generating opportunities.

The scheme is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Kenya’s labour migration framework, ensuring that job seekers benefit from structured and safe employment opportunities abroad.

The government has assured transparency in the process and urged interested youth to take advantage of the program as part of the national push to empower the workforce and boost the economy.
