Kenya and Qatar have reaffirmed their strong and growing partnership anchored on mutual commitment to deepen cooperation in key sectors that will accelerate development and benefit citizens of both nations.

President William Ruto on Tuesday held talks with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, in Doha on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development.

The two leaders agreed to expand Qatar’s investment footprint in Kenya, particularly in agriculture, infrastructure, and financial partnerships, to drive economic growth and create new opportunities.

They also discussed strengthening collaboration through Kenya’s soon-to-be-established Sovereign Wealth Fund and National Infrastructure Fund, which will attract capital for transformative national projects.

In aviation, the leaders reaffirmed the newly signed Kenya Airways–Qatar Airways partnership aimed at enhancing connectivity, trade, and tourism between the two countries.
