The Communist Party Marxist (CPM) Kenya has condemned the arrest of its National Chairperson, Comrade Mwaivu Kaluka, and Organizing Secretary, Comrade Kinuthia Ndung’u, by the Ruto administration.
The arrests, which occurred on Thursday evening, have been labeled by the party as an attempt to silence dissent and intimidate activists fighting for justice.
“These comrades are not criminals—they are revolutionaries fighting for the liberation of our people,” stated Booker Omole, General Secretary of CPM-Kenya.
The arrests come amid the party’s plans to organize protests against rampant femicide and the government’s alleged inaction on the crisis.
The party insists that such activism is a constitutional right and not a criminal act.
“The National Chairperson of CPM-Kenya, Comrade Kaluka, is not a criminal but a patriot,” Omole declared. “Stop William Ruto now—he won’t stop until we stop him.”
The CPM-Kenya has called on its supporters and progressive forces to converge at Central Police Station to demand the immediate and unconditional release of the two leaders.
The party has also urged international solidarity to condemn the arrests and hold the government accountable for what it describes as unconstitutional repression.
“Forward to revolution, forward to justice!” Omole concluded, emphasizing that the party would not rest until the comrades are freed and the state’s actions are challenged.
