Baringo Senator William Kipkorir Cheptumo is dead.
Cheptumo breathed his last on Sunday, February 16, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital after battling an illness yet to be disclosed to the public.
His death was confirmed by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi.
President William Ruto mourned the lawmaker as a progressive leader who was dedicated to public service.
"Senator William Cheptumo was a progressive leader who was dedicated to public service. He was vocal, hardworking and a tireless champion for the transformation of Baringo. The Cheptumo family, friends and the people of Baringo County are in our thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace, Mheshimiwa," said Ruto.
