President William Ruto has applauded the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya (NFDK) for over four decades of service to vulnerable citizens.

President Ruto, in a statement on X, said that the true measure of a nation lies in how it treats its most vulnerable.

“A nation is judged by the manner in which it takes care of vulnerable citizens,” read the statement.

The President made the remarks after receiving a status report from the Fund’s board of trustees, led by Chairperson Kristina Pratt, at State House, Nairobi.

Notably, Pratt is former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s sister.

“For the past 44 years, the National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya has served thousands of our people well,” President Ruto noted on his official X account.

The report highlighted the Fund’s extensive work in improving the lives of persons with disabilities including provision of mobility aids, grants for income-generating projects, education support and infrastructural development.

President Ruto reiterated his administration’s support for the Fund and pledged to strengthen government efforts in advancing the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities.
