Sailors Gang former member Shalkido has opened up on his struggles as a father and artist, making an appeal for financial assistance from comedian Eric Omondi and Kenyans at large.
Through a heartfelt post on social media, Shalkido revealed that despite trying every possible hustle, life has become overwhelming. He admitted that he has reached a breaking point, saying that supporting his family has been a huge challenge.
“As a Kenyan artist and a father, nimefika mwisho. I’ve tried my very best to support my family but everything goes south. I’ve tried every hustle but imekuwa ngumu,” Shalkido wrote.
He especially appealed to Eric Omondi, praising him for what he has been doing for upcoming artists and requesting help in setting up a small business that could sustain his family.
The artiste, who once dominated Kenya’s Gengetone wave with his Sailors 254 members, has maintained a low profile in the entertainment scene since the group went their separate ways.
The fans have reacted on social media with some sympathizing and promising to support him, while others advised him to never give up in spite of the hardships. As his story continues to trend on the web, Kenyans will be waiting to see if Eric Omondi and other artists will step in to offer a helping hand to the sick artist.
