Kenya’s Rising Stars beat Sudan 4-0 at Azam Complex in Tanzania today afternoon to qualify for the CECAFA under-20 tournament.
Aldrine Kibet delivered a hattrick and Kevin Wangaya scored the fourth goal, giving the team a resounding victory.
The Salim Babu-coached squad finished top of group A with 10 points from three wins and a draw.
They will meet the second placed team from Group B, Burundi, in the semis on Friday.
A win in the semis will earn Kenya a first ever ticket to the AFCON U-20 slated for January in South Africa.
The top two teams from each group have advanced to the semi-finals. Thereafter, the two finalists will earn the tickets of representing the CECAFA region at the continental stage.
