President William Ruto has pledged to transform Nairobi into a more livable, accessible, and modern city through the Nairobi County Urban Renewal and Regeneration Programme.

Speaking after receiving a progress brief from the Ministry of Roads and Nairobi County, President Ruto said the initiative includes the rehabilitation of 161km of roads and walkways across the city.

“This bold intervention goes beyond infrastructure; it’s about restoring dignity, improving mobility, and shaping the shared future of our capital city,” said Ruto.

The programme, a collaboration between the national and county government, aims to ease movement, reduce congestion, and enhance the city’s overall quality of life.

In attendance during the meeting was Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.
