The National Police Service has clarified the alleged abduction of Sadam Buke in Isiolo County.

Reports emerged that Buke was abducted while swimming at Royal Acacia Park by unknown individuals who forced him into a waiting vehicle.

However, the police clarified that Buke was arrested by the police and is in lawful custody alongside others.

The young man is suspected of being a key facilitator and coordinator of Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) in both Isiolo and Marsabit counties.

He was nabbed during the ongoing mounted ‘Operation Ondoa Jangili, being conducted in both Marsabit and Isiolo Counties.

While dismissing the abduction narrative, the police reiterated their commitment to comply with constitutional standards of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
