Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has regretted the murder of Susan Nabwire by her 44-year-old husband, Cyprian Mukoye.

Cyprian, who is a former police officer, killed his 27-year-old wife and the mother of his child in cold blood after suspecting her of having an affair.

On the fateful night, Cyprian quarrelled with his wife, demanding her phone, passwords, and M-Pesa PIN and when she failed to comply, a fight ensued.

Their househelp narrated that at around 3am, Cyprian woke up and fetched an axe, which he used to strike his wife on the neck and head several times before stabbing her with a knife.

After Nabwire died, Cyprian reportedly tied a rope around her neck and shoved her body under the bed, then turned to the househelp, sexually assaulting her.

He then locked the three- his dead wife, househelp and his child-in the house, then left. He would later be arrested.

Taking to X, Passaris condemned Cyprian’s actions, saying:

"Cyprian, you didn’t just kill your wife; you killed the mother of your child. That little one now has no mother. And no father."

She advised conflicting couples to seek help or even divorce instead of killing each other.

"When anger consumes you: seek restraint, counselling, separation, even divorce but never murder," she added.

The lawmaker asked the DCI to hasten investigations into Nabwire’s murder so that justice is served.
