One person has died and several others were injured following a tragic road accident involving a passenger bus and a trailer early Tuesday morning in Koteko Location, Bungoma County.
According to eyewitness accounts, the accident occurred when the bus, attempting to overtake a trailer, swerved abruptly to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming truck. The sudden maneuver led to a fatal crash, claiming one life on the spot and leaving several passengers with varying degrees of injuries.
Local residents and first responders rushed to the scene to assist the victims, while emergency services transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities have launched investigations into the incident, urging motorists to exercise caution and observe traffic rules, especially along the busy Bungoma–Malaba highway where the accident occurred.
