Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has announced the loss of his Aunt, Sofia throwing his familyinto mourning. In an emotional post he shared on social media, Mike Sonko reflected on the pain of his big family growing smaller within a short time.
“Mimi huongea tu kama jokes kuwa sisi sote ni maiti watarajiwa, but now I fully believe that we shall all die and leave this world the same way we found it,” Mike Sonko wrote.
His aunt, Sofia, was the sister to his late mother, Saumu Mukami. She lived in Majengo, Mvita. Mike Sonko decried that his late mother had nine siblings but at the moment only two siblings remain. He shared a photo of aunty Sofia and described his late aunt as someone who was loved by God stating that “she has just been taken by the angels to go and rest in peace.”
He added that the burial would take place at 1:00 PM at Kikowani Cemetery. The sudden loss has sparked immense support from the online community with many sending condolence messages and prayers to Mike Sonko family during this difficult time.
