Students from Multimedia University blocked Magadi Road in protest following the death of a second-year student in a hit-and-run accident.

The institution confirmed that Lameck Mwangi, a second-year student in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology, was found dead on Sunday.

In response, students barricaded the road, engaging in running battles with police and disrupting traffic for most of the morning.

The students blamed the accident on the newly resurfaced road, which they claimed lacked proper markings and speed bumps.

The standoff between students and police intensified, with officers using tear gas to disperse the crowd. Motorists were unable to pass as the situation escalated.
