Lugulu Girls High School is increasingly being regarded as a demonstration of the national government’s commitment to upgrading national schools in rural areas, after major infrastructural works ahead of the new grade intake.

Parents of Form newly admitted into Grade 10 have been most appreciative of the significant upgrades that the Ministry of Education and the school administration have made, and commend the two for making learning conditions to be highly conducive for the students joining the school this year.

The facilities upgrades, which comprise of technologically advanced teaching and learning aids as well as better safety facilities, are commonly seen as the work of Chief Principal Dr. Dinah Cheruiyot.

Parents have expressed gratitude to Dr. Cheruiyot for the initiative, saying the improvements are a clear sign of good leadership and a strong emphasis on student welfare and academic success.

Based on their statement at the time of the admission, the parents were filled with faith that the school was in all aspects ready to admit the new grade 10 class. They also explained that the facilities will create a secure, state, of, the, art and comfortable setting, which will be beneficial for both academic progress and personal development.

One parent, Claire Siele from Bomet County, said that she noticed the school’s level of preparation and that of the facilities, especially the visible investments made her confident that her child would get quality education in a well, organised learning environment.

The progress of Lugulu Girls High School highlights how a consistent government investment in education infrastructure, especially in rural, based national schools, can make a significant impact. It is also important to note that this is happening as the country adopts the Competency, Based Curriculum at the senior school level.
