Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale today met with Cuban Ambassador H.E. Ms. Inés Fors Fernández at Afya House to strengthen bilateral cooperation in advancing Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The talks centered on adopting Cuba’s community-based primary healthcare model and expanding collaboration in digital health, telemedicine, and vaccine production.
CS Duale proposed a comprehensive MoU to guide future Kenya–Cuba health collaboration, covering service delivery, training, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and innovation.
He also acknowledged Cuba’s support through the deployment of 84 doctors, the training of 48 Kenyan medics, and ongoing joint programmes that enhance rural healthcare.
