Luther Kamau and Nancy Steinmann delivered standout performances to claim top honors at the Great Rift Valley Lodge leg of the 2025 NCBA Golf Series, held this past weekend.
Kamau, competing off scratch, produced a commanding round of 74 gross to secure the men’s overall gross title on the challenging par-71 course.
In the women’s division, Steinmann emerged victorious with a gross score of 94, earning her the top spot in the ladies’ gross category.
The competition also saw strong showings across various handicap divisions. In Division One, Njuguna Ndung’u (handicap 17) carded 32 points to clinch the win.
Division Two honors went to Nyambura Muigai, who posted 30 points in the ladies’ category off a 19 handicap, while Stuart Scott matched Ndung’u’s score of 32 points to take the men’s title, also playing off 17.
Doug McIntyre dominated Division Three, finishing with 35 points off a handicap of 28. That same score saw Prince Moreno triumph in the junior category, playing off 19.
In the special categories, Apollo Ascol took home the staff winner’s trophy with 33 points, while Steve Nyamanya emerged as the guest winner after returning a solid 34 points off a 17 handicap.
With their victories, Kamau, Steinmann, Muigai, Scott, McIntyre, and Moreno have all earned coveted spots in the NCBA Golf Series Grand Finale, scheduled for November 28 at Muthaiga Golf Club.
As the 2025 Series nears its conclusion, all eyes now turn to the final qualifying round, also set for Muthaiga in early November.
The stage is being set for an exciting finish to what has been a thrilling season of competitive golf.
