Erling Haaland has carved his place into English football history by becoming the fastest player ever to reach 100 Premier League goals.
The unstoppable Norwegian hit the milestone with a thunderous strike just 17 minutes into Manchester City’s extraordinary 5–4 victory over Fulham.
Haaland is the 35th player to join the 100-goal club—and the first since Heung-Min Son in 2023—but he reached the landmark at record speed, shattering Alan Shearer’s long-standing benchmark that had held for nearly three decades.
At 25, he stands as the Premier League’s most prolific goalscorer, averaging more than 0.9 goals per game—far ahead of his closest challenger, Thierry Henry, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest forwards the league has seen.
“It’s huge and I’m really proud,” Haaland said after receiving the man-of-the-match award. “It means a lot. The 100 club is a special one to be part of, and I’m happy. I knew about the record—it’s what I aimed for. Scoring goals to help the team is my job.”
Ever since bursting onto the scene with 10 goals in his first six matches in 2022/23, Haaland has barely slowed down—despite criticism last season when he “only” scored 22 league goals.
His ascent to the fastest-to-100 title was never truly in doubt; he smashed Shearer’s mark by 19 games and has maintained a superior scoring rate to the Newcastle legend throughout his Premier League career so far.
