Western leaders have intensified their bid for Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi to be appointed as the new Interior Cabinet Secretary.
Mudavadi currently heads the Interior Ministry in an acting capacity following the elevation of its holder, Kithure Kindiki, to the Deputy President position.
Speaking on Sunday, November 10, during a church service in Kakamega, the leaders stated that Mudavadi is best placed to lead the Interior docket.
For instance, Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale mentioned Mudavadi’s leadership skills and strong ties with Western Kenya communities.
“Let us stand united behind President Ruto and make Mudavadi our Interior CS to strengthen the nation’s internal security,” said Khalwale.
His sentiments were echoed by Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka who said:
“Mr Mudavadi should be relieved from flying between countries and fully take charge of the Interior ministry."
