President William Ruto on Friday received a briefing at the Eldoret State Lodge in Uasin Gishu County ahead of the official release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results later today.
The President was informed that a total of 993,000 candidates sat the examinations, with girls accounting for half of the candidature, marking a significant milestone in gender parity within the national education system.
According to the briefing, 270,000 candidates attained a mean grade of C+ and above, qualifying them for direct entry into Kenyan universities.
“At Eldoret State Lodge, Uasin Gishu County, briefed on the release of the 2025 KCSE Examinations to be released today. We are impressed that out of the 993,000 candidates, 50 per cent of whom were girls, 270,000 attained C+ and above, securing a direct entry to university,”he said.
President Ruto welcomed the outcome, describing it as encouraging and reflective of ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality and inclusivity of education across the country.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education and ensuring that learners who qualify for university admission are supported through appropriate policy and funding frameworks.
The official release of the 2025 KCSE results is expected to guide university placements and shape education planning for the upcoming academic year.
