A dormitory at Ortum Boys High school in Kapenguria, West Pokot County has been engulfed in flames.
The blaze, which started at 9am on Monday, September 9, spread rapidly, reducing the students’ belongings to ashes.
Videos captured from the scene showed the students scampering for safety following the deadly inferno.
At the time of publishing this report, the fire had been contained. No injuries have been reported from the unfortunate incident.
The cause of the inferno is also yet to be established.
The Ortum Boys fire comes hours after a dormitory at Njia Boys High School in Meru also went up in flames.
Previously, a dormitory at Isiolo Girls High School was also reduced to ashes.
Also on school fires, the country is still mourning 21 young learners who died after a dormitory at Hillside Endarasha Academy burnt down.
