In a compassionate move aimed at easing the burden on families affected by the recent Nairobi protests, the Ministry of Health has announced a full waiver of medical bills for all victims injured during the demonstrations on June 17 and 25, 2025.

Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, confirmed that Kenyatta National Hospital has been directed to offset the costs through the Disaster Emergency Fund.

Among those covered is the late Boniface Kariuki, whose medical bill had risen to KSh 815,805 at the time of his passing.

“Our hearts go out to all those affected,” the CS said in a statement.
“We are committed to ensuring they receive the care and support they need,” he added.

The ministry also extended heartfelt condolences to families who lost loved ones and assured continued support to those still in recovery.
