Following a recent post by comedian and actor DJ Shiti, where he shared a photo with Yesu wa Tongaren, the entertainer has opened up about the advice he gave the self-proclaimed Jesus to turn his fame into a source of income.

Yesu wa Tongaren, a man from Bungoma County, gained significant media attention two years ago when he came forward claiming to be Jesus. His controversial teachings to church members in Tongaren sparked heated discussions and brought him into the spotlight.

During a recent trip to Western Kenya, DJ Shiti had the chance to meet with Yesu wa Tongaren. Shiti took this opportunity to offer some guidance on how the man could benefit financially from his newfound fame.

β€œHe’s a kind soul, and when we visited, he welcomed us warmly at his home. One thing I told him is that he should find ways to make a living from the attention and the platform he’s built. It could be beneficial for him to find ways to capitalize on his fame,” DJ Shiti shared.

Shiti also expressed his concerns about the way some media outlets and bloggers have interacted with Yesu wa Tongaren. He criticized those who approach him for interviews or content creation without offering anything in return, stressing that his popularity could be a tool for him to earn a livelihood.

β€œIt’s disappointing to see people come, interview him, and use him for their own content without offering anything in exchange. It would be fair if they provided him with even simple things like sugar or other small items as a token of appreciation,” Shiti remarked.

He went on to explain that all of these opportunitiesβ€”whether through media, content creation, or even small acts of generosityβ€”are ways that God has given people to support themselves financially.
