Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has responded defiantly to rumors of a plot to impeach him, declaring that he will not be intimidated by political adversaries.
Speaking at a public event in Marigiti Market, Gachagua emphasized his commitment to serving the people of Kenya despite ongoing political challenges.
“They are plotting to impeach me, but I won’t be intimidated,” Gachagua stated, making it clear that he views the attempts against him as part of a broader political struggle. He noted that his focus remains on fighting for the interests of Kenyans, regardless of the opposition he faces.
The Deputy President also criticized Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, urging him to abandon “low politics” and instead engage meaningfully with the public.
Gachagua asserted that true leadership involves prioritizing the needs and voices of the people rather than engaging in divisive tactics.
He further alleged that a group of politicians is attempting to undermine his position, saying, “I was elected by Kenyans, not by MPs who seek bribes. I will stand firm against any attempts to intimidate me.”
Gachagua’s remarks come amid a tense political atmosphere in Kenya, where power struggles and rivalries continue to shape the landscape.
