Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to revitalizing Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs), describing them as a crucial pillar in Kenya’s bottom-up economic transformation agenda.

Speaking during a visit to Nyaribari Chache Constituency in Kisii County, the Deputy President emphasized that the government is rolling out targeted initiatives to support the growth and sustainability of MSEs across the country.

“MSEs hold the key to Kenya’s economic transformation from the bottom upwards,” Kindiki said.

He highlighted key national programs such as the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) and the Kenya Jobs for Economic Transformation (KJET) as part of the government’s efforts to empower youth and drive inclusive economic growth.

The Deputy President also lauded the role of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) in strengthening grassroots enterprise development. He joined local leaders in supporting SACCO initiatives aimed at supplementing government programs administered through various ministries and agencies.

“Our focus is to ensure these enterprises not only survive but also thrive and expand, creating more opportunities for our people,” he added.
