Korogocho Member of County Assembly Absolomon Odhiambo Matach was among the lucky few leaders allowed to speak at State House, during the Empowerment Program for Nairobi County residents.
Matach also known as Known for his aggressive mic skills,told President William Ruto to be the agent of generational change,by giving young people more opportunities.
"Sisi tunasema vijana wapewe nafasi na retirees waende nyumbani" ( Let the young people have the opportunities and the retirees to go home)Matach would later confirm to reporters that his words targeted to imply the importance of opening State House doors to the common citizen and help nature hope among the struggling population.
" What the President has done is historic because every leader in Nairobi has been given the opportunity to come with selected needy groups that will benefit from the empowerment,"He said the young people who attended the State House event are the beginning of what will end into a pro-Ruto Gen Z movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
" We are going to have our Gen Zs and you can see how happy they are today yet it's just the beginning,"Four youths and women groups from Korogocho are among the over 400 groups that converged at State House for the empowerment program.
Some of the equipment donated to the groups include, Mortobikes,Saloon equipment, sewing machines, catering equipment and many more.
President William Ruto took advantage of the event to call on the young people across the country to enroll in government programs like Social Health Authority, Hustler Fund and Youth Enterprise programs.
" I want to encourage everyone of us,to support these programs by enrolling so that no one is left behind in our development agenda,"Some of the young people who were lucky to grace the event did not shy away from expressing their joy,they took to TikTok and other social media platforms, declaring their biggest visit in life,to the country’s highest office.
Some of them mocked youths allied to the opposition,and were overheard shouting that the key to State House,is through Strategy and not Protests.
One such beneficiary was the now famous and Bunge La Mwananchi activist Omosh One hour,who shared videos of himself alongside other young people as they electrified the scene.
