Former Cabinet secretaries Ababu Namwamba and Aisha Jumwa have debunked a publication by Taifa Leo, claiming they regret supporting President William Ruto in 2022.
In the Thursday, October 24 issue, the newspaper listed the duo among others, claiming since they were dismissed from their roles, they have been left in the cold by Ruto’s government despite campaigning for him.
Notably, Ababu served as the Sports Cabinet Secretary while Jumwa held the Gender docket.
Reacting to the newspaper’s allegation, Jumwa maintained her support for President Ruto.
She regretted that the newspaper published the article without according her the right of reply.
"Hiviii, who sought for my opinion? Nyinyi Gazeti la Taifa Leo what happened to right of reply? Basi Nanyi mjue hivi, hakuna siku hata moja nitawahi juta kumuunga mkono Rais William Samoei Ruto. Ni kiongozi ninaye muamini na atakayesongesha Kenya mbele. Muache siasa duni. Mimi na Rais William Ruto mpaka mwisho. Eti baridi yatupiga, baridi gani?" said Jumwa.On his side, Namwamba termed the Taifa Leo allegation as lies, saying he had considered suing the outlet.
"Ayiiii, @Taifa_Leo wacheni za ovyo! Sasa mimi Ababu-Terrah the ROCK nipigwe baridi kweli? Labda baridi ya AC!! Nyie kageuka toka “Taifa Leo” kawa “Taifa Lies”. Fedheha! If you werent broke I would have sued you," said Ababu.
