CS Kagwe Holds Bilateral Talks With Nigeria on Fertiliser and Farm Trade

Agriculture and Livestock Development Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe held a meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari on strategic areas of collaboration on food and farming.

The two met at the 49th International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Governor’s Council Programme in Rome, Italy.

They focussed on areas like the potential importation of urea to Kenya to support local farm production, as well as expanding export opportunities for Kenyan agricultural produce to the Nigerian market.

Minister Kyari is the Chair of IFAD.

“The engagement underscores the growing partnership between the two countries in strengthening food security, enhancing trade, and deepening agricultural cooperation across Africa” CS Kagwe said.
