Former Presidential Economic Advisor Moses Kuria has strongly criticized Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over remarks threatening to revoke the citizenship of former Kesses MP Swarup Mishra following allegations of involvement in organ trafficking.
In a statement issued Sunday, Kuria termed Duale’s comments as “reckless” and warned they could significantly damage Kenya’s international investment image.
“Sometimes I wonder. When a senior government official who is not in charge of immigration says we will cancel citizenship and deport so and so, do we ponder to think what investors will think of our country?” Kuria questioned.
He went on to raise concerns about due process and investor confidence, saying such public declarations could compromise the country’s credit rating and economic future. “At this rate, from where shall we get jobs for these children of ours? Gracious Lord hear us,” he added.

Kuria’s remarks follow CS Duale’s fiery speech on July 24 during the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) national finals in Uasin Gishu, where he accused Mishra of being part of a global organ trafficking syndicate.
Duale said Mishra’s hospital, Mediheal Group, would be shut down and the former MP deported if investigations confirmed his alleged involvement.
The Health CS’s remarks came just days after a government-appointed Inter-Agency Committee on Transplant and Organ Trafficking submitted a damning report linking Mishra’s facility to 417 of the 452 reviewed donor files — about 81% of all donors and 76% of recipients.
The report also named three other doctors — Murthy, Sananda Bag, and Vijay Kumar — recommending they be investigated and prosecuted over their alleged roles in the illicit operations.
While the findings sparked national uproar, Mishra has denied the accusations, claiming the taskforce conducted a “fault-finding mission” rather than a factual investigation.
“Organ trafficking means taking money from the recipient and paying the donor — we never engaged in such a process,” Mishra said on July 29.
