The body of celebrated gospel singer Betty Bayo has been moved to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital Mortuary following her death on Monday afternoon.
According to family sources, the “Eleventh Hour” hitmaker succumbed to leukemia while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH). She had been admitted on Friday after being transferred from AAR Hospital along Kiambu Road.
Bayo is said to have breathed her last at around 1 p.m., leaving behind a rich legacy in Kenya’s gospel music industry.
Friends, fellow gospel artists, and fans have taken to social media to mourn her untimely demise, describing her as a humble, prayerful, and inspirational artist whose music touched many souls.
Funeral arrangements are underway, with the family expected to release an official statement on the burial plans in the coming days.
Bayo rose to fame with her hit songs such as “Eleventh Hour,” “Maneno,” and “Atamwaibisha,” which continue to inspire thousands across the country.
